# relaybay > relaybay is a local, open-source live board and MCP server for people who run many Claude Code sessions across many repositories. Sessions create and update tasks through MCP tools (Streamable HTTP at http://127.0.0.1:8765/mcp, Bearer token) and Claude Code hooks report session status; the owner watches projects, tasks, stages and reports update in the browser. Python 3.12+, FastAPI, SQLite, MIT license, no telemetry. Stages are plan, dev, review, test, live, done. Every session should read `project_snapshot` first, pass its session on writes, keep `next_step`, `waiting_on` and `progress` current, and end every stage with `report_add` whose first line is `state · size · gist`. ## Docs - [Specification](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/SPEC/): how relaybay behaves now: concepts, board, MCP contract, hooks, setup, working rules, security model, configuration, data model - [Install with your coding agent](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/getting-started/agent-install/): an idempotent install-and-connect procedure for an agent, dry run first, apply only after the user agrees - [MCP tools guide](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/mcp-tools/): how the tools and resources work together, with results and examples - [MCP reference](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/reference/mcp/): every tool and resource with its parameters, generated from the live registry - [Connect Claude Code](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/connect-claude-code/): MCP registration, the instruction snippet for CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md, hooks with `relaybay setup` - [Install and run](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/getting-started/install/): `uv tool install relaybay`, `uvx`, `pipx` or Docker on Windows, macOS and Linux; first run and the token - [CLI reference](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/reference/cli/): `serve`, `token`, `setup`, `doctor`, `demo`, `hook` - [Configuration reference](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/reference/configuration/): `config.toml` keys, environment variables, flags - [Policy reference](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/reference/policy/): the policy layers, keys, built-in guard rules and secret detectors, presets; JSON Schema ## Optional - [Architecture](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/architecture/): processes, modules, data model, transports, security layers - [Roadmap](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/ROADMAP/): versions and status - [Design documents](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/design/): upcoming steps - [Troubleshooting](https://codenator81.github.io/relaybay/how-to/troubleshooting/): `relaybay doctor --json` and what each failing item means - [Source code](https://github.com/Codenator81/relaybay)
